I’ve written about Adriene’s channel on the blog before, touching on what Yoga was teaching me about pain and discomfort.Adriene has one of the best channels on YouTube and her content and energy is amazing! If you’ve been following me for a while, then you know all about my junk food journey and how I’ve been trying to get more active and live a healthier lifestyle.
I got into yoga around my second or third year of uni and whilst I haven’t been consistent, I’ve seen some immense benefits from doing it.
- Good for mental health: As strenuous as yoga can be at times, especially for beginners like me, it’s also incredibly relaxing. Focusing on your breathing and the synergy between your body movements really helps to keep you centred and focus on the present.
- Good for flexibility: One of the main benefits of yoga for me, is that it helps to stretch my muscles and alleviate the back pain that I often experience. Whenever I do it continuously, I just feel lighter and better!
- Good for posture: This is all about preventing those pains in the first place! Yoga is all about maintaining posture, so if you have a bad posture or you want to prevent it, then yoga is definitely for you.
Adriene has a 30-day challenge starting from tomorrow which I thought would be great for you guys to know about in case it’s something that interests you. Watch the video below to find out more details.
