Amazing Ramadan Initiatives

The Ramadan countdown is officially underway and May Allah SWT enable us all to witness the blessed month, Ameen. In light of that I am really excited about two amazing Ramadan initiatives. The first is the Ramadan £1 challenge and the second HalTV’s Habibi Ramadan Programme.

Ramadan £1 challenge

Ramadan £1 challenge

The great appeal with the Ramadan £1 challenge lies in its simplicity and the fact that it utilises the power of social media in an innovative way. The idea behind the challenge is that you donate £1 and then nominate 2 friends to do the same. £72,000 was raised last year for orphans and this year they’re aiming to break the internet using the thunderclap launch. Thunderclap is a new service that allows scheduled messages across social media, once you sign up, on 7th of June at 5 pm, Thunderclap will auto post the campaign across the social feeds of everyone that signed up. Check out the Youtube video for further explanation and like the Facebook page to stay updated. Please sign up to lend your social reach to an amazing project that will surely benefit lots of people across our Ummah.

The likeness of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah, is as the likeness of a grain (of corn); it grows seven ears, and each ear has a hundred grains. Allah gives manifold increase to whom He wills. And Allah is All-Sufficient for His creatures’ needs, All-Knower.

Qur’an 2:261

HALTV Africa

Haltv

HALTV Africa (HALAL TV) is a Muslim lifestyle channel focused on inspiring, educating, and engaging Muslims in Nigeria and Diaspora, about Islam and its teaching through producing top quality content. Check out their Youtube channel for segments including Ask the Muslims which is a street quiz designed to educate and engage Muslims about Islam, 100 Muslims 1 question which is a platform where Muslims from all walks of life such as doctors, lawyers, engineers, artists, and so on answer only one question,  Iftar With The Hijabi Chef, Ramadan Lectures, Events and all other Islamic Social Engagements. This year HALTV Africa is fundraising for their 2016 programme and the funds will go towards the production of the programmes and sponsoring 16 families during the month of Ramadan like they did last year. If you would like to donate to this incredible scheme please do so using this link . No amount is too small.

Those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah and then do not follow up what they have spent with reminders (of it) or (other) injury will have their reward with their Lord, and there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve.
